~Energy Givers vs Energy Takers~

The activities we do in our everyday lives have power over us and our energy. We must focus on implementing things that give us energy. Balance is important, so it's okay to incorporate some energy-takers. However, we should be aware of this dynamic.

Energy Givers:

  1. Supportive Relationships: Healthy, positive relationships with friends, family, and loved ones can provide emotional support and contribute to a sense of well-being.

  2. Physical Exercise: Regular and consistent physical activity boosts energy levels, improves mood, and enhances overall health.

  3. Healthy Nutrition: A balanced and nutritious diet provides the body with the necessary fuel and nutrients to function optimally.

  4. Adequate Sleep: Getting enough quality sleep (7-9 hours a night) is crucial for physical and mental well-being.

  5. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practices that promote mindfulness and meditation can help reduce stress, improve focus, and increase overall mental resilience.

  6. Engaging Hobbies: Pursuing activities that bring joy and fulfillment can positively affect one's mental and emotional state.

  7. Positive Thinking: Maintaining a positive mindset and focusing on gratitude can impact overall well-being.

Energy Takers:

  1. Toxic Relationships: Negative, draining relationships can sap energy and contribute to stress and emotional exhaustion.

  2. Poor Diet: Consuming unhealthy and processed foods can lead to sluggishness, fatigue, and a decline in overall health.

  3. Lack of Sleep: Insufficient or poor-quality sleep can negatively impact physical and mental well-being, leading to fatigue and irritability.

  4. Chronic Stress: Prolonged exposure to stress without adequate coping mechanisms can deplete energy levels and negatively impact health.

  5. Excessive Screen Time: Too much time on electronic devices, especially before bedtime, can disrupt sleep patterns and contribute to fatigue.

  6. Negative Thought Patterns: Constant negative thinking and self-criticism can drain mental energy and contribute to feelings of despair.

  7. Overworking: Working excessively without breaks or relaxation can lead to burnout and physical exhaustion.

How can you tell if an activity is an energy giver vs taker?

The best way to figure out if an activity is an energy giver vs an energy taker is to journal. Take a few minutes to reflect on what you have done and how you felt after. This will allow you to be more self-aware of your actions throughout the day.
