Sunday reset tips

Happy Monday! Today is all about Sunday resets!

Whatever you are facing today, think of it as a growth opportunity. We often focus on getting through something, which prevents us from being present. There have been many times in the past few years when I felt like I had to get through this semester, this week, and this day, and I still have these thoughts. However, these situations sometimes force you out of your comfort zone and give way to growth opportunities. So next time you try to “get through” something happening, try to find the lesson you could be learning and the silver lining.

SUNDAY RESET

Sunday resets refer to time on Sundays to prepare and organize yourself for the upcoming week. It's a way to set a positive and productive tone for the week ahead and reduce stress.

Here's a list of tips and things you can do on Sundays that I find really helpful to make the rest of the week easier:

  1. Reflect on the Past Week:

    • Review what went well and what could be improved from the previous week

    • Journaling helps you bring awareness to things you want to work on in the upcoming week

  2. Plan the Week:

    • Outline your goals and priorities for the coming week

    • Schedule important tasks and appointments

  3. Meal Planning:

    • Plan your meals for the week, create a shopping list, and do the grocery shopping

    • Grocery shopping on Sunday is my go-to because I like to prep my meals or have a rough list of what I would like to have throughout the week

  4. Prep Healthy Snacks and Meals:

    • Prepare some easy-to-grab snacks or pre-cook meals to save time during busy weekdays

    • Keeping pre-cut vegetables and fruits stocked in your fridge makes cooking during the week less time-consuming

  5. Laundry and Cleaning:

    • When my space is clean and clear, my mind feels decluttered, and I feel more productive

    • “The outer world is a reflection of the inner world.” make sure you have an outer world conducive to achieving your short and long-term goals

  6. Digital Detox:

    • Spend some time away from screens to relax and recharge

  7. Set Up a Morning Routine:

    • Plan and organize the things you'll need for a smooth start each morning

    • Set out your clothes, wash the dishes, prepare your backpack for work or school, etc

  8. Self-Care Time:

    • Take time for self-care activities such as reading, meditation, or a relaxing bath

  9. Exercise Planning:

    • Plan your workouts for the week

  10. Update To-Do Lists:

    • Review and update your to-do lists and ensure you have a clear daily plan

  11. Review Emails and Messages:

    • Go through your emails and messages to get a head start on communication for the week

  12. Set Goals:

    • Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for the week

    • Some examples can be a daily step count goal, how many pages you want to read in your book each day, and people you want to call

  13. Relax and Unwind:

    • Take some time to relax and do activities you enjoy to help reduce stress

  14. Connect with Loved Ones:

    • Spend time with family and friends

  15. Learn Something New:

    • Use a little time to learn something new or enhance your skills
