How to deal with change

Good morning, friends! Welcome to newsletter #3
Quote of the day:

Change is exciting
Change can be difficult and often unsettling, but it remains an indispensable aspect of personal growth and development. Embracing change is essential because it allows us to evolve and adapt to new circumstances, creating a sense of resilience and versatility within us. Something as simple as altering our environment, whether by exploring new places or meeting different people, offers fresh perspectives that broaden our understanding of the world and challenge our existing beliefs. Similarly, modifying things like our daily routines inject novelty into our lives, promoting creativity and problem-solving skills. While change may be intimidating, it is through these transformative experiences that we discover our true potential and achieve a more fulfilled and enriched existence.

How journaling helps me deal with change -
When faced with the fear of change, I often find myself overwhelmed with thoughts of uncertainty, worry, and doubt about what the future holds. However, I have come to realize that dwelling on these thoughts is unproductive, as we can never predict with absolute certainty what lies ahead. While planning for the future is important, fixating on uncontrollable outcomes leads to unnecessary stress. I have adopted three powerful journaling techniques to combat these anxieties that help me find peace and clarity. By writing in my journal, I can release these concerns, gain perspective, and focus on the aspects of my life that I can influence and improve. This practice has proven invaluable in navigating the uncertainties of change and fostering a more positive and resilient mindset.
Gratitude journaling - I think about things I am grateful for at the beginning of every day, but they must be different each day. If you implement this, you will notice the little things that make you happy.
Stream of consciousness - the SOC journaling technique can be done at any time of the day. I usually do it in the morning when I wake up as part of my morning routine or whenever I am feeling stressed or anxious. For this technique, you remove all distractions like your phone, music, or TV show and just write whatever comes to mind. This helps me because it gives attention to all the floating thoughts in my mind and helps quiet them.
What excites you - when you get worried or anxious about change, it’s probably because you only focus on the negative aspect of what’s to come. I journal a list of things I am looking forward to. This doesn’t have to be a long list or detailed at all. They can be small things like getting ice cream with friends or bigger things like thinking about your dream vacation next month. This practice will help remind your brain that there are things to look forward to, even with changes in your external world.

The four agreements and my favorite quotes from each section→
Be Impeccable With Your Word
“Find yourself and express yourself in your own particular way. Express your love openly. Life is nothing but a dream, and if you create your life with love, your dream becomes a masterpiece of art.”
Don't Take Anything Personally
“Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.”
Don't Make Assumptions
“Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves.”
Always Do Your Best
“When you don’t do your best, you are denying yourself the right to be you.”
